How Taxiforsure Fools Us with Rs. 5/km Offer

Taxiforsure has been bombarding us on App notification, SMS, mails, etc, on their latest and most used offer of Rs. 5/km offer.  On the paper and on the looks it sounds great to get a taxi ride for Rs. 5 per km while others charge Rs. 8/km but in reality it is not what you think you get, actually the total discount you get no matter how long or how short ride you take with their Rs. 5/km will be only Rs. 21 or less than that.

How They Fool Us
This Taxiforsure's Rs. 5/km is applicable only for the first 10 km we travel, and it also does not touch the base fare of Rs. 59 (on most cities for the first 3 km) and hence you get to travel at Rs. 5/km only for the balance 7 km you pay Rs. 5 per km and after that the usual rates of Rs. 8/km or what is applicable for your city will be applied for your ride.

Hence the maximum benefit you get with this ride is 7 km x Rs. 3 = Rs. 21 discount.  Rs. 3 is arrived at by subtracting Rs. 5 (per km) from Rs. 8 (per km) in most cities and this is what you see in your bill after your ride and as you would as Rs. 5/km as hyped by them everywhere.  This will be mentioned in the bill as the discount you get when travel more than 10 km and it will be even less if you travel lesser.  The max discount applicable with this offer is just Rs. 21 which is nothing much significant considering the taxiforsure's per minute ride rate is Rs. 1.5 per minute while other services like Uber and Ola just charge Rs. 1 per minute!

Taxiforsure will be best if your ride distance will be less than 5 km or else taking other services would be ideal.  From my personal experience Uber or Meru turns out cheap no matter what your distance traveled is but never ever travel (unless it is an emergency) on any of these cab services during their spike or peak hour rates where you will end up paying twice or sometimes thrice the usual rates!

Just sharing so that you don't fall for this trap put forth by them with their marketing blitzkrieg.

Harassment by Mobikwik on its Customers (Boycott Mobikwik)

Today, I am going to talk from personal and others' bad experiences with Mobikwik when it comes to providing cash backs, adding cash, offers, etc.  According to Mobikwik all their customers are cheats and they look at each and every users of Mobikwik wallet as cheats or crooks and scrutinize them like anything.  They also of the opinion that in a household there should be only one Mobikwik wallet regardless of how small or how big the household is (how stupid of them to think this and not thinking of it as a growth).

I am talking below some of their stupid and atrocious rules they mete on their customers.

Mobikwik's Atrocious and Idiotic Rules and Terms

  • Changing Email ID:  First of all if you have signed up with with their wallet using an email and a mobile number, then you will never ever be able to change either one of them at all.
    • If you want to change your email, then there is a rather elaborate and stupid process of adding another mobile number to your existing wallet and make it your primary number and then remove your existing mobile number from your wallet
    • Then create a new Mobilkwik wallet using your removed mobile number with a new email ID (and voila you have changed your email ID with such an ease) and wait the harassment never ends here and since they have a very very strict policy of a person having only one wallet, now you are illegally holding two wallets officially and if you have used your credit card/debit card on your old account and use the same cards on your newly created (or newly transferred wallet account) you will not get any cash back or cannot avail any offers they provide and they will start threatening or question you with freezing both your accounts no matter how much money you have in them! They will send you a rather stupid (but they think intelligent/sherlock homes type of questions) asking why you are holding two wallets using their internal scrutinizing agents!  If so you will be in a soup and your money will be gone forever.  They dont give control to the end users to change the personal details and they too don't have it with them, what kind of service are they providing with such control issues.
  • Changing Mobile Number:  If you want to change your mobile number in the same account, just don't even think about it, its not possible and even India and Pakistan will become friends but this option is not possible, we are talking about Mobikwik here friends who think they are bigger than BCCI in India
  • Same Family Only One MobiKwik Account:  Next, if any of your family members or friends use the same Wi-Fi or share your mobile data then you will be harassed with the above similar harassment if you try to avail their cash back offers! They will send you James Bond 007 type replies stating that you have so many accounts and asking us to explain why are you holding so many accounts at first place and we have to send them a rather elaborate mail with our family tree to tell them that they are held by our fellow family members and/or friends living in the same house.
    • According to Mobikwik each house should be having only one member living in it and if by accident or by marriage or by birth there are more than 1 family member then be ready to lose your money to them by way of freezing your account stating that you have more than 1 accounts or by them thinking that we are trying to rob their hard earned money (but in fact it is happening the other way around, Mobikwik stealing our money).
    • Mobikwik believes only in single family system and they digging their own grave with such stupid rules they think will curb frauds but in fact they are losing all the genuine users unlike Paytm which is growing in leaps and bounds with their good customer service and the manner in which they provide offers/cash backs for all the users without putting forth useless rules and terms
    • Back Requests - We have to mail them numerous times to request for receipt of cash backs and every time we mail them (and their customer service reps hardly understand English if you try to explain your situation) and will still send you their template replies stating that I will be getting the cash back within 24 hours provided we have followed their terms and conditions which is a complete mystery and tougher to understand than David Lynch's movies or just provide us with totally unrelated replies.
  • Payment Failures:  If you ask many online stores/online shop apps on which wallet or payment providers have more failure rates and everyone will come up with just one name and that is Mobikwik and that is because Mobikwik is of the opinion that any user who have accidentally or voluntarily become their wallet holders should use only one email ID for their entire life cycle and if you have more than one email ID which you have created then just chuck them all out and stop using them change it all to the email that you have used with your Mobikwik wallet.
    • If you use a different email ID for example in a online shopping portal "X" and that is not the same email ID as you use at Mobikwik and if you try to make your payment via Mobikwik, then the most intelligent wallet will think that you are trying to cheat them and will make failure of your payment and hence you will end up paying via other modes or if you are fighting for a deal at the website that you shopping and you will lose that deal and that particular product will go OOS before you recover to pay via other payment modes.
    • If you by accident or forced to have 2 accounts of Mobikwik (read the first point above to get to know how) and have used that email in any of the shopping portals (now only few accept Mobikwik these days because of lots of issues I guess) which accept it and the most intelligent Artificial Intelligence system with Mobikwik will detect it with its superior power and will tell the higher up at Mobikwik that someone is trying to fraud them and will ask to login via OTP which you will receive/may not receive and if you have received and enter the same at the payment page to make the payment, it will reject the OTP and say that you have entered a wrong OTP and hence cannot process the payment and we will end up looking like stupid even after receiving OTP on our very own mobile and entering it promptly there and such is the higher AI system that they follow and hence repelling as much as users from their wallet service in anyway that is possible
    • There are also instances where you will not receive OTP at all and had to return home empty handed without making the payment or choose other payment options and for these reasons I have completed stopped using Mobi kwik wallet at all and many online websites (for example recently Snapdeal has stopped accepting Mobikwik wallet) have started this trend and soon many would follow I guess.
  • Customer Support:  We should have a special mention of their customer support and their team who are well trained by their team to answer totally irrelevant reply for our issues or just copy and paste the template replies and you will be exhausted and frustrated to get your issue solved by them which I have personally experienced and stopped contacting them at all.
Apart from the above mentioned issues there are may other complaints against Mobikwik like missing money from wallet, money not credited to the receiver, recharge not done but money debited, sudden vanishing of money from their wallet which have all been put up many poor Mobikwik users at various consumer complaint boards, forums, akosha, book complaints, etc.

According to Mobikwik, all their wallet users are frauds and all have to be scrutinized to the micro level even for getting a cash back of even Rs. 15 (which is what they are providing these days in the form of cash backs).  I have totally boycotted using their wallet on the whole and have decided to never post about their offers (even they it has dried up like Arabian Desert these days) at all.  Hope many of my readers too have similar harassment faced by them, which you can do share it here and I will post it here without revealing your identity.  I will also be updating more soon as I could remember only these which I have personally and many of my friends have experienced with Mobikwik.

Overall, Mobikwik sucks! And it should be boycotted totally!
