Diwali Bonus Offer for BSNL Broadband users

BSNL has announced a special Diwali bonus scheme for all the BSNL Broadband users who have been active with BSNL Broadband for the past six months and have used it till the end of November without any breakage in service or stoppage, etc.

With this offer of Deepavali Bonus, all the existing BSNL Broadband users can actually get double usage from their existing broadband plans for the month of November. That is, you can download twice the amount of total download limit implied on your plan.

For example if you have a plan with 1 GB of download or upload limit, then with this offer, during the month of November, you can download/upload up to 2 GB with the same plan charges. Hence, virtually you will be getting 1 GB free download. Similarly you can get it for all other limited plans with BSNL Broadband. Obviously this will not be applicable for the unlimited usage plans with BSNL.

This offer is valid only for the month of November. No plan changes will be entertained during this month and all the plan changes will happen only during the month of December.

The only pre-condition, as far as I know or I can comprehend, is that you should have been the BSNL Broadband customer for the past six months.

This plan is valid in the Maharashtra Circle, Punjab, Bangalore and Chennai Circle as far as I know and must be applicable for the other BSNL circles too, not sure. You must check with your BSNL office or BSNL helpline at 1500 (available only at select cities) to confirm the same before you start with your usage. Those who know other cities in which this offer is applicable can mention the same in the comment section of this post.

This looks like a promising offer but just as any other offer, there is a free holiday voucher or package included along with the other free gifts. Nowadays most of the offers such as this or similar ones have started to include holiday package in their list of gifts which otherwise would include some cool prizes as well. This inclusion of holiday package into the free gifts have become a bad trend.

This is because around 90% of the prize winners will be getting the holiday package or voucher as their gift, I suppose, and the rest of 10% will get other gifts. Since many won’t prefer to avail the holiday package as they might need to shell some of their own money with it and also there are lots of hidden conditions applied to it.

I hope that they stop this trend of giving free holiday vouchers if they really want to reward their customers.
